Chileen tai yleensäkin Latinalaiseen Amerikkaan kannattaa hakeutua harjoittelijaksi!

Tiedätkö miten kauan olen tehnyt yhteistyötä Chilen kanssa? Jo 20 vuotta. Ja sinne on mennyt näinä vuosina yhteensä noin 250 suomalaista harjoittelijaa. Opiskelijoita tai vastavalmistuneita.

Chile on siis se kaikista ensimmäisin maa, jonka kanssa Latinalaisessa Amerikassa olen ryhtynyt yhteistyöhön. Muutamia vuosia tämän jälkeen Latinalaisen Amerikan yhteistyömaidemme joukkoon liittyi Argentiina, ja vasta paljon myöhemmin Brasilia ja Uruguay.

Muistan ikuisesti kun matkustimme sinne 1.kerran ja toisen kerran... Hieno tunne, ja samalla myös tuo tunne että vihdoinkin pääsemme aloittamaan yhteistyön myös Latinalaisen Amerikan kanssa. Näistä ns. kaukomaista versus Suomi kun idän ja etelän suunta ovat nousseet ja nousevat edelleen tietyistä syistä helposti eturintamaan. Syitä tähän on monia.

Niin ja voitte kuvitella kun harjoittelukuvio on pyörinyt Chilen kanssa jo näinkin kauan, niin harjoittelupaikat ovat hyvistä superhyviin. Näin uskaltaisin jopa todeta. 

Ja muissakin Latinalaisen Amerikassa on tehty paljon työtä harjoittelupaikkavalikoiman kehittämiseksi edelleen.

Chilen yhteistyökumppanillamme on mahtavat verkostot ja erittäin hyvä käsitys siitä, mitä harjoittelu syvimmillään on, mitä se eri osapuolilta vaatii ja mitä se tuo kullekin mukanaan. Ja hän tuntee aika lailla mukavasti Suomen ja suomalaisen luonteen.

Toki jos paikka on harjoittelupaikkavalikoimassa uusi, niin aina ja kaikissa maissa saattaa joskus sattua ja tapahtua.

Uusi työnantaja ei aina täysin ymmärrä mitä harjoittelu pitää sisällään ja mitä se heiltävaatii. Tai työnantajan ja harjoittelijan kemiat eivät kohtaa. Tai harjoittelija ei ole ymmärtänyt vastaanottajamaan työkulttuurin vaatimuksia. Ja niin edelleen. Mutta tällaiset tapaukset ovat kuitenkin vähemmistössä.

Harjoittelupaikkavalikoimassa on tärkeää ottaa huomioon se, että ainakin osa niistä on Suomen tai vastaanottajamaan erityisosaamisalueilla tai globaalisti tärkeillä aloilla. 

Toinen tärkeä asia on mielestäni se, että harjoittelupaikkavalikoimasta tulisi löytyä myös jotain ns. jänniä paikkoja. Kuten meillä on ollut vaikkapa laamafarmilla, chileläisillä viinitiloilla, Patagoniassa tai Chilen tunnetuimman jalkapallojoukkueen Colo Colon junioriapuvalmentajana.

I thought to check what photos of mine I have in my computer about Latinamerican food and drinks.  Anyway some of my favorite food I have tasted during the years...Let's find out.

Traditionally Empandas are small in Argentina and big in Chile. In Chile there is always piece of egg and an olive inside too. In Argentina the shape of the empanada informs what is inside.

Also in latinamerica you find vegetarian food. In some countries more difficult than in other.This photo is from Brazil.

 

 Pisco sour from Peru. In Chile they serve in different kind of glass and without angostura.

Cocos drink from Peru, but supposenly originally from Brazil as I have drank it many times in Brazilian bar in Lima.

Humitas from Chile and are eaten in many latinamerican countries. So steamed ocorn and may be also meat inside banana leaves etc. In some countries they are called Tamales.

Above all in Chile you can find many artesanal beers, but in other latinamerican countries mostly too. And anyway local beers, if not artesanal...

And of course Chilean and Argentinian wine...I almost forgot...

4 350 km in Chile and some nice restaurants

As I was lately in Chile and some nostalgic bars and restaurants came into my mind...

...So from earlier trips of mine to Chile. And those nostalgic bars and restaurants you can find in the south in Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales, for me this time new experiences in Puerto Natales. And up to that in Santiago and San Pedro de Atacama in the north.  

Let's begin from the north this time..

May be that some of you have been in San Pedro de Atacama. Actually Arica in the most northern city in Chile, but we speak here about San Pedro de Atacama...Very touristic spot indeed. But anyway worth of visiting for foreigners. The main street of the town, Caracoles, I did not like very much. Full of Travel Agencies. But there were one bar which I liked very much. I bet, the coolest bar of the town and may be in whole northern Chile...and owned by my compriat, the Finn! WOW...A Finn in the desert, not in the woods. The bar was called Chela Gabur. I heard "chela" is beer for example in Chilean Spanish.

And the capital Santiago. Every time I go to Santiago I go to the bar called "La Casa en el Aire" in the district Bella Vista. Drinks okay. Food okay. But above all the atmosphere very good. There is live music almost every night!

In Bella Vista you can find also other nice bars and restaurants. As well as in its neighbourhood Lastarria.

In the South in Puerto Natales...

I crashed into a restaurant called Santolla. And as like reserved for me, one small table waiting for clients. So I went in.

And took the classic Chilean dish "Paila Chilena". Of course! Delicious.

Then we come to the upmost southern city of Chile, that is Punta Arenas. There I remember, 2 very nice restaurants. We visited more than once. Their names were, if I remember right, "Marmita" and "La Luna".

Let's have have tasting Chilean adventures! From the south to the north, from the north to the south...

Music makes the world go round and me going the world around: Chile

This time in Chile. In the Folklore Festival del Huaso de Olmué . Smaller festival than its counterpart in Argentina Cosquín . Also what comes to the size of the town where the festival is organized. As well as durationof the festival and magnitude of music, drinks and food on location. But anyway, you can try it too.

 

Festival takes place in the holiday time in this part of the world. At the end of January, 4 days.

But I heard that there is also an other folklore festival in Chile too, in San Bernando . Founded almost at the same time as the festival in Olmué. So at the end of 60's/beginning of 70's.

  

And at the end here for you some Chilean artist I like. May be folklore - may be rock.
