Music makes the world go round and me going the world around: Chile

This time in Chile. In the Folklore Festival del Huaso de Olmué . Smaller festival than its counterpart in Argentina Cosquín . Also what comes to the size of the town where the festival is organized. As well as durationof the festival and magnitude of music, drinks and food on location. But anyway, you can try it too.

Festival takes place in the holiday time in this part of the world. At the end of January, 4 days.

But I heard that there is also an other folklore festival in Chile too, in San Bernando . Founded almost at the same time as the festival in Olmué. So at the end of 60's/beginning of 70's.

And at the end here for you some Chilean artist I like. May be folklore - may be rock.
Los Jaivas, which I saw couple of years ago in Helsinki capital region. Thought that I never would have a chance for that...Photo comes here when I find it...

Antu Kai Mawen (Documental), seen by coincidence in Santiago couple of weeks ago...

By the way...Have you already visited the new Violeta Parra Museum in San Carlos, near Chillán?

Chile: From the southern Mountains to the northern Deserts (Part2)

Atacama Region

Yes, they told us that Chile is as its broadest here where San Pedro de Atacama lies...
San Pedro de Atacama. Very touristic. And above all the Main street Caracoles. I did not like the main street.

In the Heat

After the Rain

But you can find in San Pedro also nice spots. If you walk only a little bit of outskirts...

Soccer, the God of Latinamericans?

Cemetery have the honour to welcome us all at the end

...or then travelling to different parts of the Desert... You may need time or come once again.

Indigenous people of the Desert of Atacama

Freetime activities, for example

Sun comes and goes - total heat during the daytime - nice fresh in the evening.

In the South - In the North. There are still places to see. One Day.

Chile: From the southern Mountains to the northern Deserts (Part1)

Yes, there are differences in temperatures. I personally like more to be in the cold than in the heat. Yes I know, many of you like it more to be in the heat. I suppose.

So this was the second time I was in the Chilean Patagonia. So during local summer time.

Last time I visited Punta Arenas.

This time Puerto Natales.

And from there visiting Torres del Paine too, of course.

So to Southern Chile was first and then to...Well, anyway different kind of temperatures.

What mountains!

What sceneries!

What a wind!

And what a cold! Sometimes also raining...So be prepared with different types of weather.

But for cold until -40C or so helps that you have enough and right type of clothes on. Cold shapes your caracter. Mine at least it has. Heat may too, but you fond of heat know it better. But for me, too many heat makes me wanting the cold come back.

Yes, the wind. Believe or not, I have never experenced the wind like in Torres del Paine! Somebody said it can be 80 km/hour.

Almost scaring. And the locals during our tour said, the wind was not as strong as they thought it would be...Well, everything depends on what you are used to. But you can learn many things too, if you only have a wish for that! Change your colour sometimes. It feels good.
